Limited Invulnerability
The body of the Aspect of Tiamat is all but invincible. It is made of tons of solid stone with hardness 8 and 5,000 hit points.
The heads of the Aspect of Tiamat are its only weakness. When a head suffers damage, the Aspect of Tiamat's hit points are reduced as normal. For every 120 points of damage the Aspect suffers, one head is severed.
Each head has its own special defenses, which it imparts upon the creature as a whole. If a head is destroyed, the Aspect of Tiamat loses those defenses.
- Red Dragon Head
- Immune to fire.
- Blue Dragon Head
- Immune to electricity.
- Green Dragon Head
- Immune to poison.
- Black Dragon Head
- Immune to acid.
- White Dragon Head
- Immune to cold.
The Aspect of Tiamat has variable spell resistance, based on the number of heads remaining:
Heads remaining | SR |
---|---|
5 heads |
SR 40 |
4 heads |
SR 36 |
3 heads |
SR 32 |
2 heads |
SR 28 |
1 head |
SR 24 |
Also, the Aspect of Tiamat is allowed to make one saving throw against any effect requiring a Fortitude or Will saving throw per head it currently has.
Regeneration:When a head is severed, the Aspect of Tiamat begins to regenerate. It gains an amount of regeneration given by the table below. All damage taken is subdual, except for the energy type to which the Aspect is no longer immune due to the severing of the head. Thus, if the red dragon head is severed, the creature gains regeneration keyed to fire damage.
Heads severed | Regeneration |
---|---|
1 head |
Regeneration 15 |
2 heads |
Regeneration 30 |
3 heads |
Regeneration 60 |
4 heads |
Regeneration 120 |
When the Aspect of Tiamat has regenerated 70 hit points, a random missing head is regenerated.
When all heads are severed, or the Aspect's hit points are reduced to zero, it dies. When it does so, it returns to its original stone form and crumbles.
Unflankable: as long as the Aspect has more than one head, it is not subject to flanking. Fortification: the Aspect gains fortification equal to 25% per head (maximum 100%).Treasure
In the pool beneath the Aspect, buried beneath 12 feet water, are 1,692 platinum coins, 28,847 gold coins and 302,050 silver coins, the collected tithes and offerings of years of worship. The silver coins are slightly tarnished, but mostly usable. Also in the pool are 44,950 gp worth of gems. (TOTAL VALUE: 120,922 gp)
Also, each head contains a shard of crystal, which was the focus of its power. See The Dragonshards
